170cm Vintage Hickory Cross-Country Skis from Norway - 1940s/50s - SOLID WOOD
Description
170cm Vintage Hickory Cross-Country Skis from Norway - 1940s/50s - SOLID WOODNice pair of factory made solid hickory skis from Norway. Likely 1940s before wood laminations became the construction of choice for cross country skis. We acquired these on a recent trip to Norway, and we believe that the skis originated in Lillehammer the home of skiing in Norway if there is one! We haven't done a heavy duty refresh on these just a scrub down with some Murphy's, a fresh base coating of tar, and a dusting of the Gresvig "Popular"
They are Nordic norm 75mm
but the camber and length are similar
Not Starbucks necessarily
Light and fast
This is a full can of Swix pine tar base sealant for wood skis
These are a great display item
And light they are - with a balsa core
Jordan Marsh Company
we are not joking
Järvinen of Lahti
A solid example of lightly used touring skis
These skis are so good-looking that they have more attitude than a 15-year-old
