Victorian Hair Keepsake in 1/6 Plate Leather CaseNewly released from my collection of Victorian hair works is this unusual keepsake in a leather 1 6 plate case for a daguerreotype or ambrotype. Unfortunately it came to me without notes or attributions, but the style of case and mat as well as the slightly curved glass place it around the mid 1850s to mid 1860s. The perforations on this one are very fine

is made of cast metal

The box is overall in excellent condition with a very faint water stain in the bottom right corner and some minor wear to the patina of the frame

The spider is secure

though it’s become a near impossible & very costly pursuit over the last 10 years or so
